Redondo Beach is the quieter version of its more energetic beach neighbors to the north. You've still got sunbathing, beach volleyball, and surfing, but without the nightlife you'd find in Hermosa or Manhattan Beach. Redondo is split east/west by the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) that runs parallel to the ocean. The part west of the PCH consists of restaurants and shopping and expensive homes overlooking the water. The part east of the PCH has a suburban feel with its wide streets and single-family homes.
Redondo is a popular neighborhood for families. Besides the easy lifestyle, there are a number of excellent schools for children of all ages.
Redondo is bordered on the north by Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Hawthorne, on the east by Lawndale and Torrance, on the south by Torrance, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.
79,917 people live in Redondo Beach, where the median age is 41.5 and the average individual income is $63,827.27. Data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau.
